GLST 101 Global Studies: Context, Connection, and Change
This course introduces students to global issues through a multi-disciplinary approach to globalization as a set of uneven processes and problems that unfold in local contexts. The course builds literacy in the historical, economic, geographical, political, and cultural concepts and methods that help us understand and appreciate the differences and advantages to employing different disciplinary perspectives. The course compares competing evaluative criteria for analyzing the benefits and risks of the powerful forces that shape our interconnected world.

GLST 300: Introduction to International Development
This course provides a global perspective on international development, exploring its role in tackling poverty and inequality. The course delves into the history and impact of international development efforts, examining their relationship with economic globalization and the development industry. Throughout the semester, we will analyze various issues such as urbanization, economic globalization, migration, population growth, climate change, and social movements. Case studies from around the world will be explored to understand how development actors address these challenges.
